Hope all is well in these trying times!

Here is a response to all the questions asked…

Have you had a ph adjustment already on this grow with support to fix deficiency?
-This is my very first grow ever. I don’t think I’ve done a ph adjustment.

Roots look awesome how’s the water temp going?
-I have a water thermometer. I just need to figure out how to hang it inside the Grobo.

Too late now but next grow don’t start a grow without getting your coco pod flush with the lid.
-I tried the day I put it in its place. It wouldn’t go in any further without breaking it.

Check for twisted or kinked lines.
-All lines checked out and are ok.

Check for buildup on probe.
-Not sure how to check this out.

You can cut off the worst leaves pretty soon or one at a time as new leaves grow in.
-I want to do this I just was afraid I was going to do something wrong. But I do think it’s the right thing to do.

Have you been marking your nutrient bottles to make sure they are being used properly?
-This I haven’t done but I do notice a difference every time I do a water change. Going forward I will mark the bottles.

( When doing a ph check you will need to contact support and submit a ticket so that they can adjust ph on their end. ) Submit a request – Grobo Help Center

What kind Of water temp therm did you get? Most of them have sticky stuff on the back of them that doesn’t harm grobo walls and you just peel and stick it eye level with enough of the cord to hit the bottom of the tank so that it still reads when water is low. nothing special to do really.

Usually when this happens its because the water you soaked the pod in has expanded the coco already, you want to soak it but only for a sec before squeezing it out and putting it immediately into the lid so that it doesn’t have time to expand. Never pull from the bottom!

Check for buildup on probe.
-Not sure how to check this out.

To check your probe you simply lift the lid and very carefully pull it straight upward, gunk buildup is obvious to the eye because the probe is made of glass, the buildup will normally be amber/brown in nature. Let me forewarn you that they are very easy to break and it takes a steady hand not to cling them on the machine or the other probe next to it, to clean use your ph cleaner in your grobo Ph calibration kit, keep submersed in water at all times and don’t scrub hard. I think there is a video somewhere around here for probe cleaning if you need more help let me know.

From my experience these plants may take a couple days to recoup from a large loss but are always healing at a fast rate and replacing anything lost. You’ll find that a mistake is often forgiven and in most times rewarded. Go for it!

At a glance this really is a great method and it also helps if you turn your bottles to the side so that you get a clear shot from the neck of the bottle to the bottom.

Normally I would never extend in early veg unless this is an auto because I’m learning that autos don’t have a late veg in the recipe, with that said I would go to late veg and extend there later if you need to, provided this is not an auto.

Day 26 Late Vegetation (Day 2 /14)

Just checked her out. Took your advice and snipped off those bad leaves. It smelled amazing after I cut them!!

I’m going to send out a ticket for my PH check soon.

I’ve installed the water thermometer. I have a question… in your picture of your Grobo I see a small planter on the top left. So intrigued to knw what that is and for? Also when should a fan be installed? I do have one ready just not sure when to use. I don’t even know it’s purpose??

I will take your advice on installing the coco pod on my next grow!

I didn’t extend the early veg stage as you suggested. This is not an Auto seed.

I think you may have started out with a ph fluctuation but it seems to have adjusted itself, your roots and new growth look pretty good!
I use my inside fans to control humidity and promote fresh air circulating like if plant was outside, I don’t use it during germination or early veg because the plant is too fragile in those stages.
When you get towards the end of late veg we can redetermine extension if needed.
The small planter I put up top was just a project I was working on cloning with a product called clonex, it was my first time. I was successful but I ended up giving them away because I had no where to grow them out and I’m pretty sure they would herm going through the flower stage. Wishing you great health and happiness!

Just completed a water change. I noticed some discoloration on a leaf. I think my issue is the fact that the weather keeps fluctuating. I live in NY so the weather here is crazy! I really think that’s my issue. Don’t knw what to do as a work around…

Hey Growers,

Just took a peek at her and she’s not looking well. Her leaves are looking brittle. My wife keeps telling me we should spray water on her. I haven’t seen anyone do or suggest that so I’m against it.

I’m not sure but I think this NY temperature is hurting her.

Day 36

Late Vegetation (Day 12 /14)

Hey Growers,

Today was water change #5 I believe.
I received a response back from Grobo support and they stated that she looked a bit shocked but good overall. They also ask I clean the ph. I have a PH tester and it tested 5.7/8

So she has 2 more days in late veg. Should I at this point extend it for the 2 weeks as it’s been suggested? Please let me know.

You will have to extend her quite a bit.

Follow up:: I’ve done some reading and from what I’ve read I took it upon myself to extend the late veg for another 7 days. Figured I start with a week and if needed extend again.

She is reaching the first fan now. I want to add the trellis soon just don’t know when’s the right time.

Your right about adding a week at a time, then repost so we can help you go from there!
You can add the trellis whenever you want.
Maybe set a rule to add it in late veg on your grows.

So it looks like she has suffered quite a bit of stress due to the up and down of the temperature here in The Bronx! I’ve clipped her most damaged leaves. I clipped a few dead lower leaves today as well.

Question?? When is she ready to be topped?

I count at least 5 nodes, I’d go Head and top now. My personal opinion has been the later I waited to top after the 4th node, the undergrowth I had to manage increased.
