I decided to put together some feedback for @Stephen and @bjorn after going through 4 failed grows in a row due to damping off.

While the machine is easy to use for the most part, it does lack in a lot of areas. The fact that the sensor data still isn’t available to the customer is just absurd. How has this not been fixed yet?

The box does give a convenient space to grow, but it quite often runs out of room. Ideally it could use another 6-8" of height and another 4-6" depth and width.

Every since I received my Grobo I have been scratching my head wondering why the LED light is located where it is, towards the rear of the box. Why isn’t the light right smack in the middle? There has been numerous accounts of peoples plants growing faster and larger in the rear of their box, which is right below the light. Why isn’t the exhaust in the rear vertical panel instead of the top panel? This would give much more even distribution of light. Adding another couple of inches to the width and depth would give room to relocate the motherboard to someplace that isn’t sitting right next to a pretty big source of heat.

Because we don’t have access to the sensor data, it makes it very difficult to determine what may be causing any issues with the grow.

The coco pods that were sold within the last 2-3 months are terrible. Besides the obvious damping down issues, it sees like they are too long so they become completely saturated and way too saturated for a seedling to thrive. There has to be a be a better solution than starting over 4 times in a row.

Fix your advertising. Rarely is a new Grobo ready to grow right out of the box. I cant begin to tell you how dumbfounded I am when someone starts a grow only to have their plant die due to pH influx due to a sensor that needed to be calibrated. Put together a list of recommended things that a new grower should purchase, such as Hydroguard.

The failure rate for grows is way too high, over 85% in my case. I’d be interested in hearing from the community about how many plants they have lost due to sensor issues, damping down, etc. 4 failed grows in a row due to damping off would make me laugh if those seeds didn’t cost $$.
All said and done I am not at all impressed with the Grobo. One of the major issues with the machine and it’s design lies around the issue of how frequently a seedling dies from damping down. When the same seeds thrive in a tent, but can’t make it past popping up from the coco pod, tells me that there is a fundamental flaw with something. I don’t know if it’s the design of the lid for the coco pod, or the coco pods themselves. I am leaning towards it being a coco pod problem, which would explain the switch to peat pods.
I am more than likely going to sell my Grobo. Because of the damping down issues I have wasted far too many seeds. When I have a 100% success rate with my tent grows, I cannot see a reason to continue throwing money away. Not only do the seeds cost a lot of money, but also the nutrients cost a lot of money. With this grow I went through almost 1/2 of bottles 3, 4, and 5 with nothing to show for it.
