I woke up this morning and their was a shocking sound coming from the Grobo. The port that you plug into the Grobo was melted. Now my Grobo is powerless. I need a new power supply A.S.A.P. I’m in flowering stage now and this couldn’t happen at the worst time. Any suggestions?
Oh man @Uglyo217 that is awful timing. Especially on the weekend. @GroboJason may monitor here on the weekend and be able to offer a suggestion?
Make sure you put in a support ticket right away with an urgent subject line to email@example.com too.
But aside from all the hacks you can do yourself (buy an aerator—which is probably the most important, leave door open and put external light on it,)…can you take the power supply and cord some store in your town, and see if they have a matching one, or one similar?
Even if the Grobo guys get to this on the weekend (likely not until Monday) it is still going to take a few days I would imagine to get you a new one.
I can’t get the door open with out power. The lock won’t budge. I will try to find a replacement today and hope that I can find one. Thanks.
Of course you can’t. Morning brain taking over.
That really sucks. Probably not how you wanted to spend your Saturday. I hope you can find something.
I think they should fix that…if the power is off we should still be able to get in our unit
I was thinking about that earlier, when I tried to open it. I went to 3 stores already and no luck so far…
The xbox has a double port coming out of the power supply and the Grobo only takes one
I personally would wait for support tomorrow as far as plugging in any foreign power supply. Someone needs to get to the root cause of this melting you speak of. Was the problem with the power supply or the Grobo unit itself needs to be answered.
Please keep us posted on the outcome.
I believe it was from the power supply. Most of the damages that I see is from or on the power supply.
The silver port was stuck in the back of the Grobo, I had to use some pliers to pull the port out,
Yup, hopefully it’s just a power supply issue and you’re back up and growing soon.
We have received your support ticket and a replacement is on it’s way to you. So sorry to have this happen to you. The plant will get a good head-start on the flowering period being in the dark for a couple days, but should rebound one the power comes back. Support will provide the tracking number for you, should arrive in less than 24 hours from now.
thanks for all the help you and your team has given me. Fast response, great suggestions and tips. I got the power supply and plug it back in. The lights are on and it seems to be running. Thanks again for everything.
Hey Grobo team,
quick question, should this effect the grow date with my plant, since the power was off for 3 days. Please let me know what you think.
It may, the plant was still alive and growing during that time, but not at its fullest potential. Let’s stick with the current plan, we can adjust before we flip to flower if you think additional time is warranted.
Sorry to see this happened… So happy it didn’t cause a fire, being electrical and all… Glad to see it’s up and running again…
Once again, thanks a lot for all the help. The Grobo is up and running but I would like for you or someone to run a systems test for me. Both of my fans stop working and I don’t know why. Can you help me again?
