What leaves to cut/move?

I’m fairly new to growing but slowly learning. What leaves should I be removing off my plant and how much. I’ve already topped my plant and cut off some of the initial fan leaves. I think I cut too many and made my plant go into shock. I’m in late veg (extended 3 weeks) on day 57 and this is white widow. Also I’m about to head into transition but don’t know if it’s ready since the second fan seems to be the go too. Here are some pictures, any suggestions are much appreciated.

This is where I differ from the rest. I don’t cut here I just bend the big fan leaves down allowing more light to the little bud sites. As the plant grows up in transition you can trim if the little growth spots. The big leaves will usually die off first.

I was dealing with the same issue but I did not top my plant. I am in the exact same stage as you and I am growing Girl Scout cookies. I go into flowering tomorrow. Just finishing the late vegetation stage. After talking to many people I think you should remove the large fan leaves which was suggested to me because you have so many buds that are not getting enough light and you really don’t need to have all those fan leaves in such a confined area. Also a technique called defoliation you should look into has turned out to be really helpful for me. It basically states that any leaves that are not going to produce Flower or are going to receive little or no light at the bottom of the plant can be removed in order to drive as much energy upward to your flowers as possible. I actually will post a picture of my plant from last night before I decided to trim the fan leaves along with a little defoliation and show you the benefits of what it did for me. The one thing I recommend is to do a shit load of reading like I did to make sure your defoliating properly and trimming properly in order to keep the plant under as little stress as possible.

add a week for recovery time then and you be good. Keep posting!

Keep in mind that I have been trimming the bottom third of the plant on me every 10 to 20 days at most. So here’s last night.

And this is just from removing the fan leaves! I had several people come back and say that the plant looks good and give me the same info as far as trying not to prune so much in one night but I didn’t realize for giant fan leaves of that size would be too much pruning so once again I do appreciate your feedback.image|281x499
