Strawberry Cough (Round 2)

3/10 Germination

Learned a trick with germinating :raised_hands:t4: If you hang the sandwich bag with the seed in a paper towel up the root grows straight down. Definitely will be doing that from now on. I will be using a CFL light for the beginning of this grow until my new LED light come in. So, my last grow I learned something to do and not to do let’s hope this one goes different. I didn’t want to use the same type of seed I used last so I switched it up and will be growing strawberry cough. Wish me luck guy’s lol

I’m just wondering… where is all that water coming from on the foil there? There shouldn’t be wetness inside the Grobo at all… I’m kinda wondering if that’s what contributed to the frying of your LED possibly? You shouldn’t have to water it from the top at all, and it looks like every pic there’s water present?

I’m not using a humidifier anymore and my humidity was to low for my little lady. So, if you look back to the first pic you’ll see I made a little humidity dome for her just until the leaves started to show. I spray the inside to kind of create that humidity so It dripped onto the foil. Just trying to create the best environment. In this picture you can see I have removed the dome now and it’s no standing water.

It seems a happy accident happened🙌🏽 It looks like the CFL is working out better than the LED in the seedling stage then any of my other grows. I see the tap root coming out of the bottom on 6/10 going in 7/10 germination. Her second set of leaves are starting to show a little and she is still happy as ever praying to the light. I may keep the CFL on her till mid early veg stage to see how this works out. Super excited this round!

Looks good! Just be careful, your seedling looks very tall which could mean it is stressed out reaching for light…typically happens when the light isn’t close enough

Not saying it’s a problem but they can easily get too tall for its weight and fall over, just be careful!

I only say this cuz I’ve seen a lot of seedlings out of the Grobo and yours is stretched pretty far

1/14 early veg

Had to move my grow to a 2gallon pot grow to save her. She is still doing awesome!!! Her third set of leaves are trying to come in. Had to take it back to the old school way due to my grobo not functioning anymore. I guess the shall of the grobo is good for something.

Glad you were able to keep her alive! She looks good!

What’s your plan for the future? Are you planning on letting her ride out in the pot for the rest of the grow? Or trying to transplant back into cocopod if you can get your Grobo board fixed?

I think I’ll stick with the pot with this grow don’t want to stress her anymore. I’ll see if things could be fixed on the grobo then see if I can start another plant once that’s done. I think I can get a pretty big plant with the 2gallon pot and I have a spot to let her get bigger than the grobo could let her.

Cool, that sounds like a plan! Obviously the climate control is going to be a little tougher with the pot without having a grow tent of some sort, but I feel like she will still survive with proper watering, nutrients, and light!

Then once the Grobo problem is resolved, you’ll have two going at once  More fun for all!
