Started New Grow outside my Grobo

I found this info…

Trichomes go through three consecutive colour states. These are clear, cloudy, and amber. The best time to harvest is when half of the trichomes are amber, and half are clear or cloudy.

Mines aren’t cloudy or amber that I can tell.

Just got my digital microscope :microscope: a little tough to get a still photo but I’m trying my best. I have some buds I think that are ready to cut. Trying to get a decent pic for ag!

This is the best I could get.

This last pic is a runt. It never grew , barely has 3 nodes but has the nerve to have pistols lol. A friggin waste of seed. Its roots never touched the water.

well well I remember a time you messaged making fun of how I spend so much on equipment saying you didn’t want to be a professional grower lmao but looks you invested way more than I have lmao happy to see your hobby taking off… but in all honesty I’m happy you made it further along but judging by your buds you need to get your environment under control… the buds looks like they could’ve filled out more … seems like your temps are off… the colder your tent the tighter the buds but less yield… on the other hand higher temps make airy fluffy buds… you have to find that medium for your strains … professionals usually run the same strain 2-3 times before dialing it in and sending the buds off to the stores … also there has to a drop of temp at night … should be around ten degrees for proper night tasks to happen within the plant… if your tent is running 69 defrees during the day and you have to drop ten degrees that leaves you at 59 degrees which is well out the range of proper temps for a cannabis plant … also if your still you should just focus on lst instead of more advanced techniques like mainlining… to fully be able to mainline you have to have experience with your environment and have it dialed in… cuz once you start mainlining there is a difference in what the plant needs as oppose to other techniques …

Manifolding - I have intentions to use this in my grobo w/ the supports I’ve added. I’ve had success with this in pots (this pic was ripped from the web)

I honestly haven’t spent that much. My entire setup including lights is less than 1k. My temps are crazy because the plants are too close to the light. I told you I should have flopped them sooner but you were like no you have room.

Guess what I didn’t have room lol. She tripled in size literally 3in from the ceiling. 1in from the light. 5ft isn’t that tall.

I have a trellis for my next grow. I marked on my tent where I need to flip. My water temperature is under control. I’m still not trying to be a pro. I just want a setup that requires less effort. 1 light not multiples. I’m trying to keep from getting a taller tent… I think once I get the height issues under control more air will flow allowing cooler temps. I still cant pay 1000 bux for a light that’s crazy

1000 bucks for a light is not crazy when you consider they are reaching almost 3 umols in efficiency … as well outputting upwards 16-1800 ppfd … the amount you can pull off a plant even in a 5ft tent would far pay for itself in product alone… second I never told you didn’t enough room I told you that you had space to keep growing if you trained right …

And regards to the lights you have 2 600 watt lights in 2x4? That’s overkill I know people who run a 600 watt led light in 4x4 and won’t go over that much power in order for them not too scorch…

Did you look into your lights and see how efficient they are? How much ppfd they are putting out? What types of leds they use? For example a 3watt led diode is good for heat issues but you lose penetration power if you step to 5 watt led diodes you get more power but extra heat… if you’ve never consider any or atleast one of the issues when deciding to buy a light then it would makes sense why you think expensive lights are a waste of time … but in reality expensive lights cost you less in the long run produce more and last longer and an added note are more beneficial to the environment. Your electric bill goes way down I run spydrx and a spydrx plus and two ac units in 4x4 alongside all the other crap and my bill is only up 86 dollars per month… there’s a reason why @Stephen swears by kind led … and they aren’t the most advanced… my point why waste 1k on a setup if it’s not going to give you the results you expected or want? That’s indeed crazy… but you could’ve spent that 1k on a hlg 550 r spec and nearly tripled the quality of light and got a better spectrum… and then spent another 300 on the other equipment and been producing 5-6 or more ounces per plant with light training … for having 1200 watts running in a tent your buds should be way fuller. On the flip side you have @Azuri and @Osage who have more experience than me growing under amazon lights producing half lbs or qp each plant they grow and those lights are only putting out 2-400 watts… so choice is yours but I wouldn’t skimp on equipment unless you know exactly what you are doing … in your case you have a lot of learning to do to be able to produce @Osage or @Azuri results with the bare minimum in equipment

Also with the better lights you can run the lights 6 inches away from the light since they have Osram or Samsung leds that give off almost no heat. Which then allows you to back off your hvac system which the. Leads to smaller utility bills… and the added benefit of not burning your plants from being to close to the light… but to each it’s own … also you have to give spectrum a thought as well … different spectrums activate different photo receptors which then activate different qualities in the plant… i use the physio indospectrum which promotes tighter nodes since I don’t want my plants reaching for the sky… there’s a lot to learn to dial in your setup… I suggest you listen to some podcast or dive deeper than just a generic google search that most of us including me do

I always have more to learn. But I cant afford to pop out 1k for a light. I spent 1k over a 7 month period not all at once. I have a kid. Yes I would like crazy yields but cant sacrifice my kid in the process. I also removed 1 of the 600w it was too hot.

I know that pain I have daughters as well invest In Inkbird controllers to control your environment… they are cheap and they work

Thanks for the kind words @chris_barfield

Yeah, background of growing has been in my blood but I’m a little rusty for sure and still new to LED’s

Reconizing and troubleshooting issues is a key to success.

I just pulled this girl out of my flower room for harvest. One dedicated cheapo light produced this. No dry weight yet, chopping tonight. Don’t be alarmed by the yellow leaves this a good sign the plant was flushed and the plant is using up the nutes in the leaves. Some of her buds got so fat and heavy I had to put in tomato steaks/sticks to hold them up. :joy:

I expect this plant to net me a 1/4lb dry give or take. :+1:

LoL, just spent the last 4 hours harvest my boof! :joy:

My biggest haul yet I had to add additional hangers from any previous harvests, I’m guesstimating with 5 ozs or more. :+1:

I just had to tie up my branches to the ceiling of my tent. They are so top heavy.

Has anyone else had to do that? Anchor branches?
