Day 5/41 Flower
Boy oh boy has she stretched… I’m beginning to see signs of bud sites starting to develop properly, although not quite yet.
I’m getting pretty damn concerned about the lack of height though, I have a real worry that I’m going to run out of head room.
Also, should I be thinking of starting to strip out and defoliate the middle/lower part of the plant now?
Any thoughts/comments guys? Much appreciated! We’re getting closer

That looks OK for GDP as I think that is supposed to grow about 2 1/2 to 3 feet then start getting thick.
Hope it is done in height and will just bush out now.

In your photo you can see where the light penetrates. What’s not I would trim. Almost half way up IMO. Looks great focus light and nutrients to the top.

Also, pistils now coming out properly and spotted the start of trichromes on the leaves

Looks great. If it gets to close to the light you might have to bend your branches over so they don’t burn. I recommend a piece of plexiglass with holes in it. Use magnets to hold it. It will allow light through without burning and the holes for air flow. I’m a do it yourself person. But @Hayden_Gregory going to try it and so am I when my plant gets to tall. Your plant looks healthy and happy. Great job. I think Hayden said he found one on Amazon. Anyway your call I’m a first time grower as well. Thank you for including me in your grow.

@Gunk you would be correct sir, I am going to order it here in the next week or so going to put some magnets in all 4 corners and let it lay in top of those here is the piece I am going to grab!

Drill holes in it so it can breath. Draw out a one inch grid and put a few holes. Not to many because you don’t want the heat issues but enough you feel the air coming out the back. Put a few check it and so on.

Will do sir, I also read you can cut this sheet with tin snips and heavy duty scissors! Should make it a lot easier for fitment.

@Gunk Do you think the plastic will increase the light intensity like in an automobile. Much Hotter inside due to the light rays coming thru the glass.
I say bend the stems all over. They pause for a moment but turn back up towards the light in a few days. This buys you time. They are not growing up…
My advice is you have to start LST early in late veg so once you get to flower, you have the right height and the canopy covers the entire box.

I was not going to comment and wait and see what happens. 
I thought that too about the lights and even what is to stop the plexiglass from heating up some, then it is hot even lower down then???

Yeah I totally thought that for a second only. The light already has a thin piece over it venting most of the heat from it out from the top. Plus it’s really not that hot if your grobo is running in the 70’s. I think it will not affect temp or light intensity at all. Air flows out through holes and filter like normal. Plus it’s flat and plastic. Like putting a vented protective barrier I guess. I’m not a scientist but I’ve been around enough I feel confident. Back in the day I cut piece to replace my back cab window in a truck. The plexi was cooler than the glass. @TheDogMan @DRaider

I think it might work, but us 3 are on our very first grows I think, so maybe we should listen to others or wait for someone from Grobo to comment before modifying things like this.

I want to wait till my first grow is done before I go modifying mine, I might do it to my second unit actually I will have one unit for the control and the other just to grow regular like someone else mentioned on here they were going to do, One for all training methods and compare to the other units final weight and what not experiment like.

I get it totally. I hope I don’t have to do much as it grows. I haven’t done much as it is really. But if it does I’ll deal with it accordingly. I’m anxious to see what you get.

Quick question - just wondering if anyone has experienced this. But I’m spotting some moisture on the leaves, not all but just a handful.
I’m struggling to keep my grobo below 50% humidity. Would adding a clip on fan towards the top of the canopy help prevent moisture build up?
I have an Eva dry dehumidifier in the unit to help absorb some of the moisture but suspect its effect is negligible.
The last thing I want after going through all of this effort is to end up in a situation with bud rot!

I might remove the dehumidifier from inside the unit and add a small fan at the bottom and aim it up, that is what I did and many others.
Not even sure what my humidity even is, as I don’t check it, 40-60 is normal most say and even as high as 70% is fine.
They do have an update model.
