Looking good Nice bounce back .
Well when I flip I keep an ec of 1.7 through transition … I start b1/b2 as soon as I flip to help control stretch … I always flush hard before flip though … when flowers set and plant isn’t stretching that much I move to 1.9 ec and slowly creep to 2.0 … the ratio I use is the aggressive formula so for me I do 2 tsp b1 2.5 tsp b2 per 5 gallon … my additives I run full strength and if they push ec too high I cut them to 75 percent if still too high I cut to 50 percent etc etc…I always run beneficials at full strength
I also condition my tap water to get rid of chlorine for the beneficials
Thanks for the information here I appreciate it also I’m glad you brought up Flushing before switching to flower.
I have never done it before switching (thought about it) but The way my set up is right now it would be so easy to get rid of all those old nutes before feeding the fresh recipe.
What I need to work on and figure out is if I add additives and beneficial‘s I have to make sure I don’t take my ratio off with NKP
Thanks again
I wouldn’t worry too much about it man you can always just use a little less bass … I don’t even watch npk too much honestly plant will take what it wants if you keep the ec right and ph…
Really solid information today guys, thanks. I’m giving one last hard veg feed this weekend and then I’m gonna flush for 7 days. A little longer than I usually flus before flower, but I’m not gonna be home for a week and need to keep it simple for my plants chaperone. Lol
@chris_barfield, what beneficials, are you referring too? I use some Great White every now and then but it’s easy to go through that’s stuff quick, anything else you recommend? Also, do teas have any benefit in coco, or is it muted cause the Coco is inert and doesn’t provide a great foundation for teas and such to work how they need? Little loaded question there but trying to get some more feedback.
Well since I didnt flush before switching to flower will 10 days be long enough at the end of flower?
Sounds good thanks
This is my first grow using coco But from what I understand 5 to 7 days should be a good final flush for Coco somebody else feel free to jump in if they feel that timing is off
Maybe I’m wrong on my thinking but my plan is different.
I plan to flush the coco until I get a close as possible to 0 ppm. Once that is complete I will be giving them a shot of flush nutes at full strength all at the same time
If you’re running RO water you’ll be able to get it pretty close to 0. You only want to flush that hard at the very end though.
The flush between Veg and Flower should be a Cal-Mag, SLF 100, and Beneficials flush. This will break down all extra nutrients from veg allowing for a clean slate before you start pounding the flower nutrients.
B, I would suggest a week long flush between veg and bloom and then at the end you’ll want to flush the plants for another 7-10 days. At this point you’re aiming to get that PPM to 100 or lower. Ideally.
Makes sense I agree with cal mag and beneficial for flush between Veg and flower but you think 7 days. Seems like a long to me. All we want to do is change the recipe in the coco no?
I was also thinking it was a long time to flush between veg-flower but I don’t know enough to say that.
My question is what the heck is a beneficial and additive?
I understood ph, silicate, nutrients and cal-mag but I got lost when @chris_barfield mentioned beneficial and additives. I always try to get the parts I understand to a science before asking Chris what the hockey sticks he was talking about because Chris forgets how not green I am sometimes when he uses the lingo.
Gotta love it!!! He cracks me up then I crack myself up trying to keep up with his green lanquage.
I don’t use teas as in coco you feed with salts… beneficials I use great white xtreme gardening Azos I also use rhizo blast
When I flush before flower I give a hard flush for one day I set ppm at zero then return to feeding my ppms when I flush I use clearex and slf100
I don’t flush my coco for 7 days before flower … you are flushing the coco every time you feed technically … but that’s my style not saying sevens days is wrong @Bplatinum9 additives are supplements things like big bud and other supplements … beneficials are beneficAil bacteria and fungi
So @Mpower11 I think I’m going to go 1 day between veg-flower like @chris_barfield suggests and 7 days at the end like @Brotherbuddah suggests. I will start there and see what happens considering it will be my first time flushing in a tent.
Thanks everyone for the feed back it’s really nice getting other people thoughts and Opinions.
Now this leads me to the next thought / topic.
Lighting I have a par meter right now I’m hitting them with about 400 (which is about 250 watt dimmed now)
I can increase the watts to 650 maxed out.
Question is at what point do you increase you lighting power same day you change to 12/12? 1 week later?
I’m open to all thoughts on this topic
