Where to place the coco pod

I’m am confused on where to place the coco pod. My unit did not come with a sticker so I have been asking around and some people say that the top of the coco pod should be flush with the cover and others are saying it should be lower to where the bottom of the coco pod is touching the water and the top is lower than flush. Please advise thanks.

The first models are with the coco pod down into the lid where the line indicates, the newer models like yours have the coco pod flush with the lid.
