What are these things wrapped around the stems? Should I be concerned

Not a real clear picture but it looks like stalk skin, at least that’s what I call it.
If your talking about the base of the stalk that is.
Perfectly normal unless fuzzy!

Stem is getting bigger and stronger. So as it changes size it sheds its “skin” like a snake. No worries, completely normal.
