I am waiting on a replacement water shield and it should be here by Wednesday at the latest, could I still start my grow? Would anything mess with the sensors this early in the stage? You know so I can at least get thing going, I got one of my bean germinating in a shot glass of water, it’s been there a few days now and it’s starting open up a little, I can see the little taproots. So am I able to start my grow still with out the water shield at this moment?

Yeah it will be fine, start your grow! 
The shield mainly helps block roots from growing into/blocking the water sensors, and that shouldn’t be a problem for several weeks. Good Luck on your Grow!!
