Water change only drained aprox. 2 cups

Hey All,

So on day 8 of my germination process I got notified to change the water, So I went to my unit, fired up the app and so forth. Long story short, the machine only pumped out about 2-3 cups max and then stopped, I repeated the process but no further water was discharged. I then proceeded to refill and refilled what was taken out.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Eric

So I managed do dump the water by cycling back through the app and having to repeat the process 6-7 times until it was empty. To fill back up there were no issues?

Make sure your water sensor are on correctly. It might be giving you a miss read on how much water is left in the unit.

Is the water sensor sticking up?

No all 3 floats freely move, in a plumber so I’m a little familiar with floats and pumps. That aspect looks all good. Maybe an internal of one of the floats?

Thanks brother

Given that the floats appear to be working properly, I’d assume the problem is electronic. My Grobo would not stop taking in water which caused it to overfill when I first started it. The problem was with disconnected cables which carry the signal from the sensors to the processor. Reconnected them and all went well after that. Good luck!

That was my main fear during my initial fill, how did it not fry all of your electronics? Or did it not completely overflow?

It overflowed above the tank and unto the bottom of the unit around the tank. The electronics, thankfully, are mainly on top of the unit. It is good that you are taking a very “hands on” approach and that you are coming up with innovative ideas. I love that smell mod of yours. Be careful with trying theoretical but unproven methods with your grow unless you are resolved to possibly losing it. There comes a time when the student becomes knowledgeable enough to really screw things up instead of fixing the problem. Wise words from an engineer I used to know. All in all, however, you look like you are on top of things. Happy harvest!

Very good advice my friend. I do appreciate it and will take it into serious consideration moving forward (it’s been in the back of my mind the since the beginning of this process, but my curios nature and baseless bravery tends to win every time as with pretty much everything else in my life). That said I am prepared to “lose it” in the name of self-education but would certainly prefer not to! I do consider my self extremely lucky to have the backing of this community and look forward to growing with all of you (pun intended).
