Pineapple Express. First Grow

@Demon @AandM-farms

Are you guys performing daily reservoir top offs? The Grobo recipes tend to dose a little heavier than ideal for many plants, topping off your reservoir every day (preferably just after the lights turn on) alleviates the overdose of nutrients by watering down your solution. It will not prevent nutrient burn but it will keep it at bay so that it does not get to the point that Demon has reached.

Hi SWSVIC,
I only have topped off water when grobo sends notification. I will try it see if it helps. Thanks for the feedback :+1:. Your grow is looking sweet.
Happy Growing!

That is very likely insufficient. How much water is the unit taking each time you too off?

Since I am in early veg. No top off needed and my water is right at middle water sensor. Not high sensor for germination stage. Plant new growth is healthy. So I was going to adding half a cup for now see how it goes. With the heat wave coming this weekend in So. Cal. hopefully it will help out. Only time I get notifications for top off was during germination and during flower time (1st grow).

My mistake, I thought you were in bloom.

It’s all good :+1: I have read and seen in other grows with PE strain who have had same issue with grow but doesn’t look like it has had any affect on completing grow. Thanks for the info. I did notice my 2 nd water change ppm was 1k. The 3rd at 500. And I used generic recipe.

Think I will be sticking to generics from here on out. Also have a new supplement regime lined up that I know will compliment the Grobo nutrients very well.

From here on out top off every morning.

For all grows in the future:

1 top off per week early veg.
2-3 top offs per week late veg.
Top off every morning transition & flower.

More updates…

So I have extended the grow yet again based on Supports suggestions. I’ve been waiting for the stupid ph package I ordered. Hopefully I’ll get it before I flush.

Defiantly can’t wait to finish this grow. I for one, hope that this whole 160 day horrible experiment is only isolated to this single grow. I’ll be trying some cbd next, but I swear if it becomes a cluster f like this round I may just walk away…

One top off in the middle of growth week is sufficient.

Oh wow!

Hey B, I top off each morning during transition and flower in an effort to reduce nutrient burn caused by the heavy dosages of nutrients dispensed by the Grobo. Not sure what your experience has been however it seems to be widely known and accepted that the recipes are a bit heavy handed with nutes.

Never experienced any heavy dosing with nutes although its a good temporary solution to your problem, have you asked support to work on the recipes your having trouble with?

Hey @SWSVIC, ever since you mentioned the watering schedule a couple posts back I’ve been sticking to it.

Yes, I’ve been in contact w support. They say everything is fine on their end. They’ve extended my dark schedule, recommended a ph calibration (not that the ph is out of whack). Now I’m waiting on the stupid calibration solution…

You know I have :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: they claim my EC and PPM are within their parameters. In all other research I’ve conducted and as confirmed by some heavy hitting champs here on AG, my plant on this recipe (which is correct) is being overdosed pretty heavily.

Looks Awesome!

Yeah but there’s a reason your being overdosed because its not the standard for every Grobox, which is why you should make that clear when telling others they must water everyday. We wouldn’t want anyone to think they have to babysit the automated box so heavily!
Support may need to do a bit more investigation to see if its models that were put out at a certain time frame.
Ive run my box for over a year with no over dosing as have a lot of others.
Sorry your having such a hard time! Let us know if you ever get down to the bottom of things!
P.s. Were all Champions!
