I’m looking to start a small grow area indoors. I am looking to purchase 1-2 LED grow lights (preferably 1). It’s very overwhelming when searching on the web for LED lights, does anyone have any recommendations for a reasonably cost effective LED brand?? Most look cheap or ineffective. Looking to grow more for medical purposes in addition to my Grobo. Please provide names or even links if possible. Thank you in advance.

Keep in mind I would consider this a well made yet “beginner” light. I’ve got my eyes on some others but they run $700-800, some even more. It will produce nice buds if you look at my last grow, but there’s better out there. Like I said in the recommendation, good performance for the $$$.

Completely understandable. The price range is crazy! It’s just the cheap ones are just… So cheap looking and wouldn’t appear to do a thing. That’s why I decided to ask before Ordering and being extremely disappointed. I will definitely try this one as it is a low enough price and exactly the coverage area I was looking for.
To cut down on other major costs I was thinking about doing the grow area without an actual tent but quarantining off the area with plastic sheeting material (trying to use things on hand to keep costs way down).

Completely understand! I made the mistake of buying a cheapie light for my first tent grow and regret it after using this one. They also sell a full tent kit which looks like a pretty good price that includes the Mars light just FYI.
Just be careful with this as depending on your sheeting, light leaks could be possible and screw your grow up.

The HLG 650R is one on my radar…but it’s a $700 light. The one thing I really like about the Mars is the cables are long enough to be able to move the drivers out of the tent to reduce heat.

Yup, very happy with my HLG. I have a Mars too that is in my veg tent, works fine but I like the extra juice for flower.

Never said it wasn’t which is why it’s top of my list. But OP is looking for cost effective and cutting costs by not using an actual tent. This is why I didn’t recommend HLG, $700 isn’t really cost effective for a light.
