Wondering if this is a thing or not- more roots equal more flower yield?

Great roots provide good water and nutrient uptake but I can’t say that more is a thing because of all the various ways to grow. Some pots like flora flex provide an aerated system for the roots to breath and don’t have very much root space and can still grow as tall as a bigger potted root system.
I would say its great to have a large root system but its not the only factor in yield.
Think healthy root system first.
