I used a similar product at the beginning … Price-performance ratio wasn’t right. For me, the roots develop best with cool bags.

I can see what your saying, 
but for me it comes to “price vs convenience”. Paying $30 once a year or maybe twice, is well worth it to me to never have to worry about water temps. I add a tablespoon once a week and that is it.

Yes sir I just pour straight from the big jug “eye ball it” since it can not hurt anything and you can not over do it with hydroguard! Pour it straight into my bucket, then add my distilled for the weekly change
