Help, found bug and root looks strange

Hello all! I found a bug in my GROBO and I am slightly panicking.
I have not seen this bug around anywhere else in my house and not sure what it even is. I do have plants but not around the GROBO and I have 4 cats, not sure if this is relevant
Also the root is popping out slightly from the top of the coco pod, is this normal?

I’ll attach a picture

thank you!

Hey @Zahraa_Msa! Congrats on the germination! We have signs of life! What we see there I think is the stem bent over. Soon we should see one end emerge with an oval shaped set of leaves.

As far as the bug, I think most of us experience some amount of pests in the unit. I think it’s the light and maybe the cocopod that attracts them. I ended up using some fly sticky paper which I attached to the interior walls using magnets. It caught several little bugs so you may want to give it a try.

Congrats on signs of life!

keeping the top of your cocopod dry will help get rid of those gnat looking bugs I think.
I hope it wasnt any eggs inside the cocopod prior to shipping it to you.
I have seen strange crickets in hardware I purchased from Israel before it can be quite scary and makes me think about how invasive species in Hawaii and Australia spread.

Congrats on the sprout. Here’s some helpful info regarding bugs and general information. This site is really informative i.e. stages of the cycles, defoliation techniques, diagnose any issues…

Patience, and sticky paper is good usually yellow is best but blue works too.
