Started working on a automatic watering system. Wiring up capacitive soil moisture sensor to a analogue to digital converter and then to a raspberry Pi 3.
Using a relay to control 2x 5V pumps that will be in an HD bucket with lid and I’ll also add an air stone at the bottom of the bucket.

Ok so a quick update on the automated irrigation system. My brother was kind enough to write the python script to get the data every 15 minutes. Right now I’m still in the testing phase of the project but eventually I’ll dial in the proper moisture ratios. For now it’s at 70 percent and the pump kicks on for 8 seconds for up to a maximum of 4 waterings per day.
All these parameters will be adjusted but for now it works and I’ll fine tune it as I go.
This is the data from the moisture sensors.
I’ll take pics of the whole set up once it’s finished.
