How does the grobo know to feed the plant nutrients?

From my experience nutrients get dispensed right after drain and fill. Probably a question for @Stephen

After you finish filling the grobo if you sit there for like 5 mins or so you will here the pump sucking up the nutes into the water.

Great question @Kidiz1224,
Grobo feeds your plant when a successful drain and fill is registered. A successful drain is all 3 water level sensors falling in order or top to bottom. A successful fill is all 3 water level sensors rising with the incoming water.
The Grobo will check to see what type of water you have added, and add a supplement if RO or distilled water are used. Each week we ‘clean out the fridge’ and start fresh with another drain/fill.
