Looks good. Definitely gonna say an additive caused. Be careful as that can go sideways quick. Plant looks healthy. Awesome

Thanks! I’m looking forward to harvesting this. I’ll definitely post some pics. It’s been a long road. I planted in feb and expected to harvest in june, at the latest…never expected to be still growing in july/august but it’s probably my inexperience. I guess the strain could be a slow grower as well but it’s definitely been quite a learning experience. Again, really appreciate the feedback.

Don’t discount it man! U probably gained a bunch of knowledge of what to do in the future. Btw I would take more off the bottom 1/3 of plant. When u dry those buds on bottom, it will be Larfy and won’t be good smoke.

Thanks @Jamminbear
Good feedback and, you’re right, the knowledge on how to handle future grows will come in super handy. I will definitely be doing more defoliation/lollipopping moving forward. The mainline/manifold technique looks very interesting as well…may be worth trying.
Thank you!

The dark roots are probably mostly from the recharge – besides the cleanup that was the only thing I didn’t like about using it; makes it harder to diagnose if it’s root rot or just sediment/buildup. My roots looked similarly brown/slimy but the plant was beautiful and healthy.

As for the slow growth, I’d chalk that up to defoliation and trimming; you have a lot of small buds at the bottom as well as a lot of leaves blocking the light from reaching the bottom. That splits the plants attention (or energy) between all of those bud sites; so having less bud sites receiving more of the plants energy/focus is more ideal than having a more bud sites receive less of it. Same applies for light to some extent – buds not exposed to light won’t grow as well as those that are. Next time if you “lollipop” your plant then you should see bigger buds up top.

Thanks @vegetato
I’m glad to hear that you saw the same, with respect to the recharge. I really hadn’t looked at the roots since the first month so I was sort-of shocked when they had the appearance of root rot. The recharge seems to be great stuff but it definitely can do some serious staining. I guess I should prepare myself for an exciting cleanup

Also makes a lot of sense about the defoliation/trimming. I had read about what you mentioned but I was still a bit hesitant being aggressive with my first grow. I now see that I really didn’t need to be that conservative. I will, absolutely, be doing all that you suggest on my next grow. Thanks to you and all the other fellow-growers for the feedback/direction. Great people/great forum!

Who bred this cultivar ?

I actually purchased a small shop/wet vac in prep for Recharge cleanup…

Seeds came from Next Generation Seed Co. Cross between Grapefruit and GodBud

Good idea. I have an old one in the basement that I could probably use.

Hi fellow growers,
Well, harvest day finally arrived. This ended up being a 6 month grow for me. I waited a little longer in flower because I was looking for a fair amount of amber trichomes. Though I did trim a bit of the larf buds, I still ended up with a significant amount, which is OK, considering this was a great learning process for me. I’m now in drying mode and will separate the dense/mature bud from the larf/popcorn and sweet leaf. I’ll post final weights (of each) but I’m keeping my expectations low ;-). Just want to say thanks again for all the help along the way! The support from the Grobo team has been great and the support from this forum has been the same…invaluable! Included some pics as well. …thinking I may try an auto/BubbaKush next.

Holy crap, this was awesome to watch the progression… It was like reading a book with twists and turns… the beginning was looking rough, I was worried!

But god damn, that is a NICE HARVEST! Congrats!

I am buying a Grobo Premium on Monday… I can only hope my plant looks even half of what you have there!

I’ve seen some awesome pics on this forum, you guys have some really great suggestions to help as well, good stuff! I really feel like Grobo support is there to help as well, which is an awesome added bonus!
