1st Grow Bruce Banner FAST

Going to have pics next week when I decide to top it off

The eager beaver strikes again. Being my first grow and having a FAST seed I want to make sure I’m on top of things. But question @SWSVIC we chatted before about topping but I looked at baby bruce today and i think i got 5 nodes but i could be wrong… Need help from the grobo community. Also I have a spot on one of my leaves I took a pic of that too.

That spot is nothing to worry about my man. You do indeed have 5 nodes, and can go ahead and top whenever you’d like. I would do it first thing in the morning (as close to “lights on” as possible). Be sure to perform a water change once you make the cut to give her some fresh nutes to recover with and remember to leave a quarter inch nub where you top!

Like @SWSVIC said, that spot isn’t a big deal unless it shows up on newer growth. I had that happen to my GSC side project lower leaves. Even though my GSC is an auto, I trimmed the lower leaves that had brown spots. They were the first real single leaves that pop after the very first germination leaves.

Just topped this morning…
I’m what stage or what week should I start trimming?? What the usual time everybody does

Second what @SilverGrobo Grobo said, do what you feel is right based on the research you have done. Give her some time to recover from topping before you prune anything else, you will know she’s recovered once vigorous growth continues. From there I would only remove lower leaves that look damaged or weak until she is a little more grown. You don’t want to do too much in these early stages as you could end up harming/stunting the growth of your plant. Check the link below, lots of good intel:

Shouldn’t be a big deal as long as the new growth looks healthy, which it does. Are the nutrients from bottle 5 being dispensed? I believe that’s the bottle that has the Cal-Mag in it.

Do you have a fan inside your unit? What’s the humidity?

@VermontGrobo its using the #5 and I ha e a fan inside the unit but idk what’s the humidity at…

hey @SWSVIC once you top do you perform a water change by going to Fill/Drain mode?

Yes, this will dispense a fresh round of nutrients aiding your plant in recovery. If you can, wait to top on a water change day to conserve nutrients.

@SWSVIC I dont think it matter but I did the topping and water change a day before my unit said to… should I have changed it again when the machine said but I didnt think so being that it was the next day

Nope you’re fine just let it ride until the next scheduled water change if it was only a day apart it won’t be a big deal. Just make sure that you top off your reservoir mid week and you’ll be good to go.

Its early where I’m at so I’m a little slow right now what u mean top my reservoir?

When and if the water gets low and plant :seedling: need that oxygen top it off like @SWSVIC was saying…more than likely before that water change is due

Hey @Cutty3026 I would recommend topping off midway through the weekly water change schedule. @Thatguyb.y you should receive a notification from your Grobo saying “your plant is thirsty” this would be the appropriate time to top off. As your grow continues it may be necessary to perform top offs more often than once a week. You can gauge this by how much water she is taking in during your weekly top-offs as well as if your leaves start to “droop” between water changes/top offs, this is also a good indicator that she wants more water.
