@Bplatinum9 …it was alot in those recent post. U said “yes” what are u saying yes to…lol
You asked should you clean the gook off your holders again, I said yes because the cleaner you keep your unit under and above the less chance of issues.
P.s. You can remove the damaged leaves they have nothing Ieft in them.
So I cleaned the unit and checked the probes health. And it checked out to be good did not need to do anything to them but clean it. I moved and put a fan in and temp still seems to be a little high
What’s up Jay, I’m also new to growing but I did deal with and resolve a lot of heat issues with my unit as the only place I have for it is in a closet in my office. How close do you have the back of the Grobo to the wall? Not sure if someone already suggested this but pulling away from wall a foot or so helps immensely with the heat by allowing the hot air to flow out of the top exhaust easily instead of it being reflected by the wall and back towards the unit. Also, what is the ambient temperature in the room where your Grobo is located?
Yeah 84 is going to lead to nothing but root issues if you can’t get the water cooler. Hydroguard would help but that’s still pretty warm.
Is that build up that you’re asking about being cleaned off from this new grow already or is that just stuff you missed from the last one? If it’s new then yeah it’s warm water creating the bacteria and most likely giving you root rot. If that’s from your previous grow then that can be harboring bacteria and thus potentially giving yourself root rot, with the added temp issue of course.
Either way like @Bplatinum9 said I’d clean it and remove those leaves
yo whats up SWSVIC…I moved to the new area in the house…but besides moving away from wall what else did you do to cool your unit?
Not sure where it could have come from. Could be from the warm water or could be from some places I thought I cleaned or didn’t get it all from last time I posted about cleaning. Like under the line holders or even the lines. This time it was cleaned thoroughly. Not saying I didn’t last time. But it’s factored cleaned now. I got everything. And learned a trick on how to clean the nutrient lines. (if everything goes well I will share safe and easy way to clean them) I also chilled some of the water like you said. I did the h2o2 on the roots. That trick worked great. Night and Day. I put a fan in unit…It’s on night cycle will check temp in the morning.
Great, hopefully all works out for ya. Also try and have the lights off during the day as well, I know it’s harder to do that in veg, almost impossible but at least the hottest portion of the day I’d have the lights off, only other little bit of advice I can offer
I got you…I’m willing to try anything at this point. Even starting over…lol
Nah I think you’re far from starting over man lol. People have had worse and pulled through

This was by far the most effective modification for cooling my unit. Inexpensive and simple to assemble. Pulls the hot air right out of the unit and directs it far away. Give it a shot my man, you won’t regret it.
Also I’ve got this sucker oscillating in my closet. Moves a ton of air.

yooooo!!! u had me dying laughing bro. I will check it out…lol
do what I can!
I mean it’s not going to get better right away but the roots should be white, if not off white but definitely not brown/slimy. Snip those two dying leaves off and then watch the fresh growth, it looks good
You asked:
happens when you use hydroguard? What does the roots look like or happens to it?
Answer: Hydroguard when used keeps bad bacteria at bay and stops root rot.
Hydrogaurd is a clear substance much like water and will not change the color of your roots.
O.ok…Thank u
Starting my first grow here tomorrow, should i go ahead and start with hydrogaurd? Just wondering your thoughts.
@Allforlove Yes start with 6mL Hydroguard mixed into 3 gallons distilled or RO water then fill your reservoir via the Grobo pump. Good luck with your grow!
