So not clear @ what temp. & how long to heat up honey oil. Has anyone tried?

What are you intending to do with it?

If you want to dab it (smoke) you need to keep temps below 105°F by using a heat mat or something to do the purge or to transfer it to another container. In this case I usually aim lower (like 80-90°F) to preserve more of the terps.

If you want to decarb it for edibles/tincture creation then you’ll need to heat it to around 122°C for 20-27 mins, see here: QWISO Extraction with Isopropyl | Skunk Pharm Research

It’s an old one but a good one!

More details on evaporation can be found in the comments section.

Hey @Stephen,
For honey oil, do we need to dry the bugs as well?

Hey @Fmartinelli,

Yeah, I dry and cure the bud before winterizing and running the oil. Check out live resin if you want to run fresh.

Hey @Choppo0816,

Wouldn’t that be great!?! Unfortunately we don’t offer them. You can use Ethanol or Isopropyl as strong as you can find them. Usually 190 proof Ethanol and 99% Iso. Should be available locally.

Cheers,
Stephen
