First grow in my new gen 2 grobo

@Bobface86, @C453Y, Very helpful for sure! Thanks for sharing!
I could see how tight spaces could be an issue for the Gen 2 going forward, maybe they can put a longer hose on in the future or make options available in the Grobo shopping cart. @Stephen. :eyes: :seedling:

Yes - now you’re talking. I would certainly purchase a longer one.

Hey @C453Y and @Bplatinum9,

I see ya’ll and appreciate the feedback! Keep it coming, any other improvements to Gen 2 we can make?

Cheers,
Stephen

Hey @Stephen I noticed upon assembly that there was a spot for fan 2 on the lower circuit board? Is this unit capable of two fans and is it something Grobo plans to offer in the future?

I would pay for longer D&F hoses for sure!

Furthering my other post. I would even pay additional for a service contract. I may be in the minority with this idea but it would be worth it to me. I’m not as handy as I used to be and am new-ish to growing so losing 2 days worth of support concerns me.

Well we drop a Jack Herer seed in the morning so as we move along with getting the Gen 2 dialed in and producing medicine, we will certainly share any ideas we come up with!

So I’m on day 17 of my grow in the gen 2 and I’ve been able to turn my fan on even in germination not that I was going to use it just yet but was just checking to make sure it was working. While we’re on the subject when should fan be started?

I guess it really depends on your setup as I wanted the hoses outside even before with the original Grobo. I find it simple and my hoses run around the back of the Grobo 2 and I fill and empty from the opposite right side. Plenty long enough, bucket right by the rear right corner. Or just dont pull them out the back and run the out the front same as the original. You dont have to run them out the back, leave inside and open the door during the drain/fills.

I am not sure you need a 2nd fan as I am thinking it might even be too much, looking for ways to lower the speed if I could like some fans do? The single fan in the Grobo 2 is about 10x better than the 2 in the original one.

I started a new grow this morning and my fan is on in the Grobo 2. So something is going on maybe as mine is on, and others say theirs is not???

They do offer longer warrantees, think they are $300-$450.

Let me know if it’s still on tomorrow I am curious mine is off and won’t turn on

I have a gen 2 manual fan do I need to have it on all the time from early veg til ???

So I shifted my schedule to early veg to see if my fan would come on as there seems to be some conflicting information on the forums. And nothing fan is switched on and no sign of life :weary::weary::weary: I guess we will see what’s going on. I wish there was some sort of straight up user guide. It seems like there are alot of questions that could be addressed. And users could know if you have a problem or not without reaching out

Ok so now I changed it back to germination and my fan turns on and it added 6 more days to germination. I don’t know what’s going on seems a little buggy to me but at least the fan works. But it would nice to get some solid answers. Any why did it add 6 days to my germination? How big should my plant be before early veg? Are the fans automatically controlled in the gen 2 unit or is it just upon the user? Because I’ve been told there automatic but have observed other wise with mine and others. I am new to this and got a lot to learn

I’m sure support will be tired of me in no time. I feel for them probably got a lot to deal with as things seem

There are some issues and I have been working with them on a few. I dont want to say public what I am doing as not sure that happens to everyone or “MY” fix is needed by others too?? The Grobo people are super, the best, and they will take care of it. @Stephen @Todd.grobo

My fan is still on. DO Si Dos recipe in germination day 2.

I did turn it off with the red switch on the fan.

@TheDogMan, the whole situation is strange to
Me. When I first started my grow
My fan worked, not sure if that was before I started the recipe or not. I turned it off and left for about a week came back and it wouldn’t turn on! Which led me to put a ticket in to see what’s up. I was advised that it doesn’t turn on during germination. Then I adjusted my recipe to early veg to see if it would come on and nothing, changed it back to germination and it turned on instantly!

Ask again in support as they can see a lot more than we can about what is going on.

I really dont want to say what they been telling me as my problems might be different and you might not need to do what I am.

Day 10 Germination
Water temp 72. Humidity 43% Air temp 77. Don’t see any effective way to lower water temp without increased temp in air, so using hydro guard.
