Northern Lights first grow (auto)

Thank you sir, I just read about your harvest what a bummer, next go around I hope she does better for you, were these seeds from Growers Choice seeds by chance? I was thinking of ordering critical and gorilla glue from them for next grows but after that stretch idk, I want to go photo period though we will see.

Definitely go photoperiod. And save your money ordering from Grower’s Choice. Order from Neptune’s Seedbank or Well Grown Seeds. They have good genetics that won’t waste your time or money. I prefer Mass Medical Strains as their genetics are some of my favorite varieties and they do great work during the stress testing while making new strains. Plus, they always smell Dank!!

Best of luck to you. Anything sativa leaning you want to flower sooner than the second fan. Plus, it lessens Veg time a bit. I discovered the hard way that autos are hit or miss. I’ll be running purely photos from this point on in my Grobo. I’ll save autos for the tents.

Next Grobo grow will be Alien OG from 207 genetics, of course, they did not breed the strain. Merely made seeds from another cut. Regardless, I’ve had good luck with 207 genetics thus far.

Good to know about other seed banks. I’m looking now. For December or January new grow. There’s so many.

Looking better! I still think you can trim more, but maybe wait a couple days to let her recover. I know it can be scary to go as heavy as mine, and it took me a few grows to get there. Just trust me when I say, it’s all for the best .

He’s right!! They love the late heavy defoliation. It looks and feels wrong at first but they boom :boom: when you do it right!

As with autos, they require less defoliation but still somewhere in between. Beware, she may keep stretching as she’s an auto. With that said you’ve maintained and trained her very well!

You should try 1 outside next season. Sounds like a good option for your area

@FireGuy @OrionsCeiling Thank you for the helpful and kind words, I love growing, it is so much to learn and like you have said, with each plant there is always room for improvement and new techniques to be used! It is all trial and error, we are just thankful when everything pans out as planned!!

Technically I would legally have to grow 4 outside at the same time or 4 inside, not both.

Ahhh don’t you love the legal spectrum :joy:
Same here VA just legalized in July up to 4 home plants and luckily I just turned 21 in September So I am straight lol

Really that’s a dum ass rule…

I just went on Ontario’s web site it says this… Doesn’t talk about indoor / outdoor

Growing your own cannabis

You may grow up to four cannabis plants per residence (not per person) if:

  • you are 19 years of age and older
  • it is only for your personal use
  • the starting material was purchased from the Ontario Cannabis Store or an authorized retail store
  • it is not forbidden by your lease agreement or condo rules

I love how it says "the starting material was bought from “Ontario Cannabis Store” that is about the dumbest thing I have heard you can only grow and it is legal if it is bought directly from them, who in reality is going to listen to that! LOL
Also what they mean “material” the seeds and all grow equipment or just your grow supplies not regarding the seeds? Throws me off a bit

I’m going outside next year with one. I have a few Dos si Dos seeds. I’m in southern AZ.

Maybe it’s changed since 2018, TBH I haven’t looked.
With my street light outside though, I am not confident I have a solution around this issue yet.

My Friend it’s called a Auto it will not care about your street light… I would do it just for fun!!!

I can imagine a nice 10 gallon pot outside in your beautiful garden!! You could even Veg it for 30 days inside early spring then move outside if you want a jump start to finish it earlier…

I picture your season more like in Russia get yourself a nice Ruderalis Strain (Auto) besides look at how much $$$ you would save

We get like 18 hours of light in peak summer. Planning when to plant that would be SMH. LOL

I’d be interested to see how they do. I’ll never grow outside here in AZ as 1) I’m in a neighborhood 2) Summer temps are crazy hot, not sure they’d survive but maybe it doesn’t get as hot where you are.

Sounds like a Auto’s dream come true… Worse case the plant doesn’t make it… Which isn’t the end of the world. Cost would be just some top dress and a seed… The rest is free thanks to nature… But I have lot’s of time to work on you… I will be reminding you late winter for the upcoming season no garden is complete without at least 1 :crossed_fingers:
